The Ying & Yang of EAST & WEST
Last week Laundry Magazine celebrated its first birthday to the tune of Christina Yi’s solo runway debut. Her collection was a clash between East and West inspired by each culture’s fight for freedom. There were rough and tumble cowboys mixed in with Chinese empresses but meshed together in such a perfectly harmonic balance that neither appeared out of place. Yi’s menswear especially struck a cord with beautifully tailored pieces and great details. The collection was not so much a clash between cultures but rather a perfectly balanced blend between the two.
